Medienpädagogisches Projekt in Kooperation mit der Universität Leipzig

The Access and Benefit Sharing – Sustainable Use Of Biodiversity (ABSBio) is an ongoing project in partnership with the Makere University in Uganda and the Inter-Regional University of Industrial Engineering, Biotechnologies and Applied Sciences in Benin (IRGIB-Africa). The project is focused on supporting the capacity development for the implementation of the Access and Benefit Sharing mechanisms in accordance with the Nagoya Protocol on Access to Biological Resources and the Fair and Equitable Sharing of Benefits Arising from their Utilization to the Convention on Biological Diversity. Here we can see a clear example of applied research being used to develop medicines for the benefit of the local population.
